The path to redefining a career in music

Karen Cubides has always been a go-getter.

As a new grad from one of the most prestigious music programs in the country, this saxophonist took an interest in the business side of the industry, climbing her way up the ranks at the Boston Symphony — from ticket puncher to managing and marketing the entire company (which brings in over $98 million per year).

As an aspiring star, Cubides was shocked and saddened by the reality of these musicians’ lives. Despite their talent, most struggled with severe mental health issues and had a hard time getting their names out into the industry.

After years of schooling and hard work, Cubides came to the harsh realization that being good at her craft simply wasn't enough to make it in this chaotic industry. So, she dove in head-first, becoming a business and life coach in order to provide musicians with marketing, branding, workshops, and more.

Nine years into the business, her agency, Karen Cubides Agency, has become a lifeline for musicians everywhere. With a wide range of clients, from students to professionals, Karen and her team have demystified the music world, giving people the tools they need to showcase their craft in a successful and strategic way.
